Iran reiterates in United Nations that it recognises Sana’a authority as legitimate government of Yemen
Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has reaffirmed Tehran’s recognition of the Sana’a authorities as the legitimate representative of the Yemeni people, stressing that bilateral cooperation is fully consistent with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
In a statement, the mission said Iran’s cooperation with the Sana’a authorities aims to support a Yemeni-led process toward a unified Yemen while preserving the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity
The mission also rejected recent US claims that Iran used the Yemeni delegation’s travel to attend the Supreme Leader’s funeral to transfer military equipment, describing them as “baseless.”
It further said that the US accusations were fabricated and intended to mislead the UN Security Council and divert attention from US crimes against the Iranian people and the peoples of the region.
