Gaza between epidemics and massacres… the enemy besieges life and exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe

The Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip is no longer limited to bombing, killing and destruction, but has extended to creating a catastrophic humanitarian and health environment, in which daily massacres are intertwined with the spread of epidemics and the collapse of the health system, in a scene that reflects a systematic policy aimed at depleting the resources of life and pushing the population to face death in multiple forms.

While the enemy forces continue to commit massacres against civilians, the health situation inside the sector is deteriorating in an unprecedented manner, with the spread of infectious diseases, the depletion of medicines, and the shutdown of vital medical departments, under a suffocating siege that prevents the arrival of basic needs and doubles the suffering of more than two million Palestinians.

Epidemics are spreading into the camps
Amid severe overcrowding in the displaced persons camps, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that it had recorded more than 9,300 suspected cases of chickenpox during early July, most of which were concentrated in the southern Gaza Strip, particularly in the city of Khan Younis.

Field reports indicate that the lack of clean water, the absence of hygiene supplies, and the impossibility of isolating the infected within the crowded tents have caused the disease to spread rapidly among children, while doctors warn that the continuation of these conditions opens the door to new waves of infectious diseases, including respiratory infections, diarrhea, skin diseases, scabies, and lice.

Collapse of the health system
The health crisis is no longer limited to epidemics alone, as the Ministry of Health in Gaza warned of the depletion of essential types of cancer drugs, confirming the cessation of chemotherapy treatment protocols for a number of tumors, and the inability of hospitals to receive new cases, especially breast cancer patients.

The ministry also announced the suspension of services in the medical fabrics production and manufacturing department after the depletion of raw materials, which threatens to disrupt surgical operations and treatment services in hospitals, in light of the continued depletion of the health sector and the prevention of the entry of medical supplies.

More than 11,000 cancer patients are facing a very serious situation, including thousands of patients who have treatment referrals outside the sector, but the blockade prevents them from traveling to receive treatment.

The massacres continue despite the calls
On the ground, the Zionist enemy continued to target civilians and civilian facilities, as six Palestinians were martyred in a raid that targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, including a mother and her children. The raids also targeted the Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in Jabalia, which has been turned into a shelter for displaced people, in addition to continuous shelling of the Nuseirat, Khan Yunis and Al-Mawasi areas.

These attacks confirm the continuation of the policy of targeting civilians even in places of refuge and shelter, which exacerbates the humanitarian disaster and increases the number of victims.

Crimes that require action
For their part, the Palestinian resistance factions affirmed that the entity continues to commit massacres against the Palestinian people, noting that targeting families and health centers represents a dangerous escalation that requires urgent international action to protect civilians, stop the crimes of genocide, and compel the enemy to implement the ceasefire understandings.

Human rights and humanitarian organizations and freedom-loving people around the world have called for increased pressure to stop the aggression, end the blockade, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid.

Al-Aqsa under Judaization
In parallel with the aggression against Gaza, dangers are escalating in the city of Jerusalem, where Jerusalemite authorities have warned of extensive plans led by extremist Temple groups to carry out mass incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in an attempt to impose new Judaizing realities with direct support from the enemy authorities, amid continuous calls to travel and stay in order to protect the mosque and preserve its Islamic identity.
