Iraqi forces advance over the Syrian border

The pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) regained their field operations over the Syrian border, Saturday, aiming at “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia,  last positions near the key district of Ba’aj.

Backed by the Iraqi Air Force, the Popular Mobilization Units managed to free teh Al-Risalah Compound after a short battle with “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia,  on Saturday morning.

With this latest advance by the Popular Mobilization Units, the Iraqi Armed Forces are now in position to enter the Ba’aj district for the first time since they withdrew from the area in 2014.

A PMU spokesman said that the popular forces, backed by the Iraqi air force, have been advancing in western Mosul, regaining more areas from “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia.
