The Saudi-led coalition on Yemen announced on Monday the end of Qatar’s participation in the alliance.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the decision to end the participation of Qatar occurred because of “Qatar’s is reinforcing terrorism in Yemen including Daesh and Al Qaeda.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt declared this Monday that they had ended their diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of working to destabilize the region.

It is worth mentioning that the Saudi-led coalition’s military operation against Yemen began on the 26 of March 2015 with the aim of restoring the ousted and twice resigned Saudi-backed president Hadi.

More than 33,000 civilians were killed and wounded during the US-backed Saudi operation. The coalition has also been accused of demolishing the country’s infrastructure.

Moreover, millions of Yemenis were severely affected by the economic siege and the closure of Yemeni airports and ports enforced by the coalition forces.

Terrorist organizations are reportedly taking advantage of the unstable security and thus have been active in regions under the control of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE); regions are located in the South and East of Yemen.
