The EU announces the resumption of aid for Yemen

The head of the European Union mission in Yemen, Maria Antona Calafo, announced on Monday that the European Union will cancel its decision to suspend 55 million euros allocated to Yemen.

This amount will be channeled to the health sector, food security and the business sector to rebuild the damaged archaeological facilities and grant loans to implement small projects for the poorest families in society.

Calafo also pointed out that the Union is in the process of resuming its development, health and humanitarian activities through its regular programs, and the need to facilitate the arrival of experts and specialists from the European Union international organizations, as well as the entry of humanitarian and medical aid, and bypassing routine procedures due to the nature of the conditions in Yemen.

Furthermore, the head of the European Union mission called on “the parties concerned to reopen Sana’a International Airport and pay the salaries of the employees, also declaring the opposition of any military action in Hodeidah as an remains an important artery for the lives of Yemenis.”

Moreover, the European Union is strongly opposed to the transfer of the Central Bank to Aden, and made a proposal for a practical program at the time that ensures that the resources go specifically to pay salaries and for social services.
