More than 60 organizations and unions have called on the United Nations, the Human Rights Council and the High Commissioner for Human Rights to form an independent international commission to investigate the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against civilians in Yemen.

The Organizations have stressed the importance of forming an international commission of inquiry in conjunction with the 36th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, which began on September 11.

The data showed the disastrous humanitarian situation in Yemen as a result of continuous bombing of cities, residential neighborhoods and infrastructure by the coalition warplanes. Additionally, a suffocating siege has been imposed for almost three years which has left the Yemeni people suffering.

The organizations of the community called for a rally on Monday in front of the United Nations headquarters in Sana’a in order to sign a joint letter calling for the formation of an international commission of inquiry into the crimes against the Yemeni people and handing over the message to UN officials in Sana’a.
