Police Reveal Details Of Armed Confrontation In Raymah
The Ministry of Interior revealed on Wednesday the details of the armed confrontation between security forces and militants, headed by Saleh Ahmed Hantous in Raymah province.
According to the Ministry’s Security Media Center, the province’s police clarified in a statement that Saleh Ahmed Hantuos was killed during the armed clashes with security forces in As-Salafiyah district.
The statement affirmed that the so-called ‘Hantous’ was engaged in provocative activities targeting the security and stability of the province, as he called for chaos and rebellion, and rejected the positions of the Yemeni state and people in support of the Palestinian cause.
It added that Hantous was adopting positions loyal to the American-Zionist aggression against Yemen and seeking to thwart popular and official activities in support of the Palestinian resistance.
The statement added that the province’s police had previously issued several warnings to Hantous through tribal mediation and sheikhs and dignitaries for urging him to cease his subversive activities, but he responded to these efforts with refusal and stubbornness.
According to the police statement, the attack resulted in the deaths of three security personnel and the injury of seven others, forcing the security forces to return fire in self-defense. The confrontation ended with the death of Saleh Hantous, the injury of one of his gang members, and the arrest of the others.
Police affirmed that they would continue to fulfill its national duty and would not tolerate anyone who seeks to destabilize the security and stability of the province or threaten the safety of citizens.
The security forces also praised the positive role and honest cooperation by the sheikhs and dignitaries of the As Salafiyah district and Raymah province in support of the efforts of the security forces in maintaining security and stability.
