Messages of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi in the Special Speech on the Prophet’s Birthday Anniversary

Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi’s speech coincided with the celebrations of the Prophet’s Birthday (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Though brief, the address was rich in meaning and content.

The Sayyed emphasized the importance of this great occasion in our lives generally, and for Yemenis in particular, recalling the Prophet’s saying: “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.” He also drew attention to the suffering of the people of Gaza.

He began by stressing that the Prophet’s Birthday is an opportunity for renewal and a starting point for a new year, one in which we draw from the blessings of this birth and from the values of following the noble Messenger. He underscored the need to apply the Prophet’s teachings in our daily lives, enabling us to move from the past year into the new one enlightened by the blessings of this occasion.

The Sayyed highlighted the importance of rejoicing in God’s grace and mercy as enjoined by the Qur’an, affirming that these values must be passed on to future generations, reminding them of their great leader and noble Prophet, who embodied the model of dignity, honor, and devotion to God in this life and the Hereafter.

Unlike others, Yemenis do not limit their celebration to songs and rituals; rather, they embody the Prophet’s example through practice—by resisting the challenges of the tyrants of the age. This year’s commemoration comes amid sacrifices, as the Yemeni people offered martyrs, including the Prime Minister and members of his cabinet, in defense of the prophetic path.

Sayyed al-Houthi stressed that the Yemeni people draw faith, awareness, determination, and steadfastness from this occasion, striving toward independence on the basis of their faith-based identity, raising the banner of Islam with pride, resilience, and devotion in jihad.

Yemenis marked this anniversary under difficult circumstances that have persisted for over a decade—since the U.S.-Saudi aggression with its blockade, bombings, and massacres, and now continuing through the aggression of the Zionist entity, the Americans, and their allies.

This occasion comes as Yemen faces harsh economic conditions and great challenges, yet it stands as living proof that “faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni,” and that Yemenis are walking the right path in line with the Qur’an—embodying the values the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) called for.

Palestine at the Heart

The Sayyed did not neglect Gaza. He reminded that Gaza has endured two full years of U.S.-backed Israeli aggression, a continuing crime and a disgraceful scandal for those who remain silent. His message was clear: Yemen’s commemoration is not like others’; their presence in al-Sabeen Square is not mere formality, but a genuine continuation of the prophetic legacy and a stance of solidarity with Gaza.

By linking the Prophet’s birth with the current struggle, he showed that reviving the Messenger’s life and message is inseparable from present-day realities—embodying jihad for the sake of God, defending the oppressed, fighting alongside our brothers in Palestine, protecting al-Aqsa and the sanctities, and standing with the downtrodden.

The Sayyed expressed deep sorrow that Muslims in the heart of the Islamic world suffer such oppression, while many watch passively or collaborate secretly with the Zionist enemy. He urged the Ummah to awaken, return to the Qur’an as guidance, and take the Prophet as their model in conduct.

Warning Against Soft Warfare

As in all his speeches, the Sayyed reminded the nation of its responsibilities, highlighting its weaknesses, and calling for defense of al-Aqsa Mosque. He warned that the Zionists believe the time is ripe for their project of building the so-called “Temple” on the ruins of al-Aqsa, an illusion built on falsehood.

He explained that the plight of Palestine has revealed the depth of the moral, religious, and human decline in the Islamic nation, worsened by the deceptive tactics of “soft war.” This insidious psychological war, likened to “Satan’s war,” has been used by Zionist powers to weaken a nation of two billion Muslims—dragging it into humiliation before a small handful of Zionist Jews.

Through infiltration, manipulation, and training of Arab leaders from their youth, global Zionism has worked for decades to shape the rulers of the region to serve its agenda. Today, those rulers are being directed according to Zionist interests.

Sayyed al-Houthi warned that Israel’s plans extend beyond Palestine to the entire region under the project of “Greater Israel.” This project will continue until the Islamic nation embraces the Quranic approach, follows Yemen’s example, and rises under the banner of jihad in God’s cause—politically, economically, and culturally.
