From Gaza’s Ashes Rises the Truth:
Over 67,000 Killed and 170,000 Wounded in a Documented Israeli War of Extermination
Two Years After the Gaza Genocide, the Land Still Bleeds
Two years into Israel’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip, the territory continues to bleed. The skies rain fire, and death strikes indiscriminately. Each passing day reveals new layers of atrocities, confirming that what unfolded was not a fleeting assault but a war of extermination aimed at erasing Palestinians from their land and wiping life from Gaza’s face.
67,000 Dead and the Blood Still Flows
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 67,682 killed and 170,033 injured since October 7, 2023 — including thousands of children, women, and the elderly.
In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals received 151 new bodies, 116 of them recovered from beneath the rubble, along with dozens of wounded, underscoring that massacres continue even after the ceasefire declaration.
The ministry added that 320 newly identified bodies were retrieved from destroyed areas, pushing the total number of confirmed deaths to unprecedented levels in modern warfare.
Starvation Claims Lives as Hunger Becomes a Weapon
Alongside the bombings, Israel’s blockade continues to starve Gaza’s population. The Health Ministry has recorded 463 deaths due to hunger and malnutrition, including 157 children who died from starvation and thirst under collapsed homes or in displacement centers.
Since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) officially declared famine in Gaza, 185 additional deaths have been attributed to hunger — reflecting what human rights experts describe as a “double-layered crime” in which blockade has become as lethal as bombs.
Rescue Teams: 9,500 Missing, Entire Families Lost Beneath the Rubble
Despite the ceasefire, civil defense crews continue to recover bodies. On Saturday alone, 11 bodies were retrieved from several locations across Gaza City, Khan Younis, Al-Mughraqa, and near the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital.
Rescue officials say 9,500 Palestinians remain missing after 735 days of bombardment, with many entire families believed to be buried beneath their destroyed homes.
Satellite imagery released by the United Nations shows that 193,000 buildings in the Strip have been damaged or destroyed — whole neighborhoods erased from existence.
Massive Destruction and a Collapsing Infrastructure
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, nearly 90% of the Strip’s civilian infrastructure has been either completely or partially destroyed. Around 300,000 housing units have been damaged, and two million people displaced.
Despite the death of more than 8,000 government employees while on duty, public workers continue to carry out over 5,000 operations daily — in rescue, relief, sanitation, and healthcare — proving that Gaza’s will to live endures even amid ruin.
Health Sector on the Brink of Total Collapse
The Ministry of Health has warned that Gaza’s medical system is collapsing, with hospital bed occupancy at 250% of capacity due to overcrowding.
Dr. Mohammad Zaqout, Director General of Hospitals, stated that over 60% of essential medicines and 70% of laboratory supplies are no longer available, and that major hospitals such as the Indonesian and European Gaza Hospitals are now entirely out of service.
He confirmed that 1,701 healthcare workers — including 320 doctors, nurses, and administrators — have been killed since the start of the war, describing the situation as “an unprecedented medical collapse in Gaza’s history.”
Global Outcry, but the Blood Still Flows
Amnesty International called for a complete lifting of the blockade on Gaza, saying the ceasefire must be “a prelude to ending all hostilities and reopening border crossings without political restrictions.”
Human Rights Watch stated that while the ceasefire brings a glimmer of hope, it “does not absolve Israel of accountability for crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity.”
The UN Human Rights Commission reiterated that the forced displacement of civilians constitutes ethnic cleansing, demanding that all displaced Palestinians be allowed to return to their homes.
Israel Retains the Bodies of the Dead
In another grave violation, the National Campaign for the Recovery of Martyrs’ Bodies reported that Israel continues to hold 735 Palestinian bodies, including 67 children and 10 women, along with hundreds of detainees killed in custody.
The report added that around 1,500 bodies from Gaza are stored at the Israeli military base of Sde Teyman, a stark symbol of what observers call “the dehumanization of Palestinian victims.”
Resilience Amid the Ruins
Despite the tragedy, Gaza — described by the resistance as “the city that never dies” — continues to rise. With one hand it wipes its tears; with the other, it rebuilds its ruins.
