Abu Marzouk: Any proposal to deploy international forces in Gaza must protect Palestinians, not serve the enemy

Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said on Tuesday that any proposal to deploy international or Arab forces in the Gaza Strip must primarily aim to protect the Palestinian people and defend their rights, rather than complete the tasks of the Zionist enemy or provide cover for its crimes.

Abu Marzouk told Sputnik that there is a fundamental difference between genuine peacekeeping forces that protect civilians and forces used as a cover to enable the occupation. He stressed that Hamas will study any deployment proposal carefully and responsibly, and will support only what preserves the people and repels aggression, while rejecting any arrangements that relieve the Israeli entity of its burdens.

The leader emphasized that resisting the occupation is a legitimate right, and that the strength of the Palestinian people is not measured by weapons alone but by the steadfastness of fighters who refused to submit and faced tanks and aircraft with their chests.

He added that the coming phase requires Palestinian national unity to overcome dangers and protect national rights, noting that Hamas is open to any mechanism that unifies the Palestinian stance within a comprehensive national program that places the people’s interest above all considerations.

Abu Marzouk also noted that Gaza’s security services have worked since day one to consolidate security and pursue troublemakers, stressing that the real cause of instability is the continued aggression of the Zionist enemy, and that the enemy’s full withdrawal remains the essential step toward restoring security and safeguarding rights in the Strip.
