Gaza Faces Genocide: Rising Casualties of Israeli Aggression and a Deepening Humanitarian Catastrophe for Displaced Families and Prisoners
Despite more than twenty-six days having passed since the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli occupation continues its open-ended assault on Gaza through bombings, home demolitions, targeting civilians, and depriving displaced people and prisoners of the minimum humanitarian rights. Massacres have not stopped, violations are expanding, and the siege is tightening—leaving Gaza trapped in a compounded disaster that transcends geography and time, while the world stands powerless before the suffering of a people facing extermination under the label of a “truce.”
New Martyrs in Shuja’iyya as the Killing Machine Continues
Four Palestinians were killed on Monday in a series of attacks carried out by Israeli forces in eastern Gaza, including three civilians in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, along with one person killed by a “quad-copter” drone strike targeting a group of residents.
Occupation forces continued artillery and air bombardment, along with home demolitions, in eastern Khan Younis, Gaza City, and Al-Bureij, in repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs since the start of the truce has risen to 266, with 635 injuries, in addition to 548 bodies recovered. The total death toll of the full-scale Israeli assault since October 2023 has surpassed 69,483 martyrs and more than 170,706 injuries.
Widespread Escalation: Airstrikes, Home Demolitions, and Direct Targeting of Civilians
Israeli forces renewed heavy artillery fire and opened intense gunfire east of Khan Younis today, in parallel with three airstrikes on the city and multiple home demolitions in eastern Gaza.
In the northern part of the Strip, Civil Defense reported the killing of one civilian and the injury of others in an Israeli strike on the Al-Sha’af area of Al-Tuffah neighborhood.
Field reports confirm that Israel shows no genuine commitment to the agreement and is instead using the truce as cover to continue its “pressure by fire” strategy—sustaining killing and economic strangulation.
Crimes in Prisons: Killings, Torture, and Enforced Disappearance
Human rights organizations operating inside Israel, along with a joint investigation by The Guardian, revealed severe violations against Palestinian detainees. At least 98 prisoners have died in Israeli prisons and detention centers since October 2023, with estimates indicating the real number is “much higher.”
Physicians for Human Rights said it documented 35 additional deaths, based on medical reports and testimonies from lawyers and released detainees.
Testimonies confirm that prisoners are subjected to torture, ill-treatment, enforced disappearance, and denial of family contact—while occupation authorities respond to death cases with complete denial and deliberate concealment.
Abdullah Al-Zaghari, head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, stated that Israel’s admission of 98 deaths means the real number exceeds one hundred, pointing to cases of direct killing prior to arrest, withholding of bodies, and denying families the right to bury their loved ones.
Targeting the Press: 26 Journalists Behind Bars
The Palestinian Center for Journalists’ Protection warned of escalating violations against journalists in Israeli prisons, as the occupation continues to detain 26 journalists, including three who have been forcibly disappeared since October 2023.
The organization stressed that the violations amount to “crimes against humanity” under international law and the Geneva Conventions, calling on the United Nations and the International Federation of Journalists to act urgently.
Shelter Crisis: Tens of Thousands Facing Winter With No Protection
The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that the Strip is experiencing the worst humanitarian disaster since the beginning of the genocide, with 288,000 Palestinian families left without safe shelter after rains destroyed tens of thousands of tents housing displaced civilians.
The statement pointed out that Israel is preventing the entry of 300,000 tents and essential shelter materials—including blankets, insulation, heating supplies, mud-resistant flooring, and hygiene facilities—despite signing the humanitarian protocol attached to the ceasefire agreement.
The office called on the international community to act immediately to prevent a catastrophic winter, placing full responsibility on Israel for the suffering of civilians.
WHO and UNRWA Sound the Alarm Amid Global Inaction
The World Health Organization called for the opening of all Gaza crossings to allow medical supplies in, confirming that 72 tons of medicines and equipment have reached Al-Arish and are awaiting clearance.
UNRWA also stressed that winter has begun while displaced Palestinians have
