January 4: A Bloody Day in the History of the Aggression Against Yemen
On this day, January 4, renewed testimonies recall the brutality and terror inflicted by the U.S.–Saudi–Emirati aggression against Yemen and its people.
This date is not a passing moment; it is a blood-stained record marked by recurring crimes: the targeting of civilians, destruction of homes and property, and the bombing of schools, institutes, and roads—flagrant violations of international humanitarian law.
January 4, 2016: Martyrs and the Destruction of Infrastructure
Three civilians were killed and three others wounded in an airstrike on Al-Sharriyah District in Al-Bayda Governorate, while additional strikes hit Al-Sawadiyah District, destroying the telecommunications network.
In Saada Governorate, two children and a woman were killed when a house was destroyed in the Assayah area of Majz District.
In Rural Ibb District, two civilians were killed and 12 others injured after five airstrikes targeted areas in Qa‘a Al-Jami‘.
The aggression also carried out six airstrikes on villages in Al-Hazah sub-district of Saber Al-Mawadim District in Taiz, resulting in deaths and injuries, the destruction of the Mohammed Taha Naji Educational Complex, severe damage to two schools near Al-Shaqab, and the technical institute in Al-Khatwah, in addition to damage to many nearby homes.
Residential neighborhoods near Taiz University and the Al-Sab‘een area in the capital municipality were also targeted, including Al-Sab‘een Maternity and Childhood Hospital and the Gas Company facilities in Asr and Al-Sabahah, causing fires to break out.
January 4, 2017: Continued Bombing of Civilians and Border Areas
A woman was killed by gunfire from aggression mercenaries in Al-Houd area of Al-Salou District, Taiz, while airstrikes hit Al-Khannah and Azzan areas in Al-Wazi‘iyah District.
In Saada, airstrikes targeted Wadi Al Abu Jabara in Kataf District and launched five strikes on Wadi Sabr in Sahar District, alongside Saudi shelling of Al-Sheikh and Ayyash areas in Munabbih District.
The aggression also carried out five airstrikes on Al-Sharaf in Najran, two on Qamar village in Al-Khubah, one on Qaim Zubaid in Jizan, and three on Al-Tuwal.
In Shabwa, three airstrikes targeted Wadi Jandalah and Al-Safra area in Asilan District, three strikes hit Midi District in Hajjah, one strike hit Sirwah District in Marib, and another targeted Kahboob area in Lahj.
January 4, 2018: Bombardment of Border Areas and Property
A child was injured by Saudi rocket and artillery fire on the border district of Razih in Saada, while airstrikes targeted Al-Dhaher District and Saada city.
Two airstrikes hit Rabou‘ah city in Asir, one targeted Al-Tal‘ah site in Najran, two strikes hit Al-Jarrahi District in Al-Hudaydah, and two others targeted Al-Rabi‘ah and the airport areas in Sirwah District, Marib.
Airstrikes also targeted the Security Administration building in Nati‘ District of Al-Bayda, an area in Mahalli in Nihm District near Sana’a, and five strikes on Al-Yatmah and Al-Mahashim in Khabb wa Al-Sha‘af District, Al-Jawf.
January 4, 2019: Crimes Continue
Seven civilians from Al-Sadah tribe were killed in Markhah, Shabwa, while the commander of the Rapid Intervention Force of the Shabwani Elite, Colonel Jalal Saleh Ajjaj, and soldier Hammoudi Balha were killed, and seven others injured, during clashes and Emirati Apache helicopter strikes.
In Saada, rocket and artillery shelling targeted homes and farms in Baqim and densely populated villages in Razih.
In Al-Hudaydah, mercenaries fired 108 artillery shells at northern and eastern Hays, 45 shells at southern Al-Tuhayta, eight mortar rounds at Al-Sheikh village and its western outskirts in Al-Durayhimi, in addition to artillery and mortar fire on Al-Kuwai‘i, Al-Amniyah, Al-Shajan, Tihama and Al-Muqbali companies, and southern City Max, accompanied by medium and light weapons fire.
Airstrikes also targeted Haradh and Midi with four strikes, reconnaissance aircraft carried out four strikes on Bart, and another strike hit Ham area in Al-Matun District, Al-Jawf.
January 4, 2020: Artillery and Machine-Gun Escalation
Mercenaries shelled Al-Jabaliyah area in Al-Tuhayta with five mortar rounds and various calibers of gunfire, burned a house in Upper Al-Jah area in Bayt Al-Faqih, and shelled northeastern and northwestern Hays.
Machine-gun fire targeted areas near Al-Waha Hotel, 50th Street, and Al-Sha‘ab City, as well as neighborhoods in 7 July and 50th Street, with more than 22 mortar shells hitting southern and northern Hays.
Mercenaries also targeted liaison points in Al-Hudaydah and villages of Al-Dahfash, Al-Shajan, and Al-Za‘faran, while more than 80 artillery shells struck homes and properties in Al-Durayhimi.
Airstrikes targeted Jabal MBC and Jabal Al-Qanbourah in Jizan with eight raids.
