Iran Warns Washington: Any New Provocation Will Be Met with a Decisive Response
A member of Iran’s Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Alaaeddin Boroujerdi, has warned U.S. President Donald Trump against “attempting to repeat his previous mistakes” toward Tehran.
In statements reported by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), Boroujerdi stressed that “any new provocation will be met with a stronger Iranian response, including targeting all U.S. interests in the region.”
He described Trump’s recent remarks—calling for support of opposition groups inside Iran—as “a miscalculation that reflects the ignorance and foolishness of the U.S. administration,” noting that Washington has yet to understand the nature of the Islamic Republic and its capacity for decisive retaliation, as demonstrated in incidents involving the downing of U.S. drones or precision missile strikes on military bases.
Boroujerdi further stated that Iran and its people are facing a “harsh economic war” waged by the United States using all available means to harm the country, adding that this approach once again reflects “America’s recklessness.”
He emphasized that “Tehran is not a country that can be easily threatened,” warning that any attempt to repeat previous violations would result in “far more severe strikes” by Iran, describing such action as “a legitimate right beyond dispute.”
The remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened, in a post on his platform Truth Social, “possible military intervention if Iranian authorities resort to violent suppression of protesters,” as he claimed.
