Gathering of Palestinian Clans condemns crime of assassinating officer Mahmoud Al-Astal
A statement issued by the National Gathering of Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families condemned, on Monday, the treacherous assassination crime committed by a group of Israeli enemy mercenaries and collaborators. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of Colonel Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Astal, the Director of the Khanyounis Police Investigations Department in Gaza.
In its statement, the Gathering of Clans affirmed that this cowardly act constitutes a blatant assault on national, religious, and human values. It represents a base criminal behavior undertaken by a despicable and rejected faction that is alien to the traditions of the authentic Palestinian society and its sacrifices, according to the Palestinian “Safa” agency.
The statement considered the targeting of security and police officers a direct targeting of every Palestinian citizen’s security and a serious threat to the entire societal fabric. It described it as a desperate attempt to create chaos and strike internal stability in service of the occupation’s agendas.
The Palestinian clans and families emphasized their unified stance behind the security and police agencies in performing their national duty, offering absolute support for all efforts aimed at preserving citizen security and safeguarding civil peace.
They called for the “necessity of pursuing the perpetrators, agents, and traitors and holding them accountable according to the law to protect the security of our society and in fulfillment of the blood of the martyrs, foremost among them the heroic martyr Colonel Mahmoud Al-Astal.”
