Palestinian prisoners’ media office: Six PFLP prisoners excluded from all prisoner exchange deals by Israeli entity

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office reported on Wednesday that six prisoners, leaders and members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), who have been imprisoned since 2002 on life sentences for the 2001 assassination of Israeli Minister Rehavam Ze’evi, continue to be excluded from all prisoner exchange deals by the Israeli Entity.

The office stated in a press release, which was reviewed by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the prisoners are: Ahmed Sa’adat, Ahed Abu Ghalma, Hamdi Qaraan, Majdi al-Rimawi, Mohammed al-Rimawi, and Basil al-Asmar. They have been subjected to separation between prisons, solitary confinement, punitive transfers, starvation, and medical neglect.

It pointed out that the health conditions of these six prisoners have deteriorated significantly, with them losing tens of kilograms of weight, suffering from chronic and skin diseases, and being deliberately denied medical treatment, especially after October 7, 2023.

The office affirmed that the Israeli enemy is using their continued detention outside of any prisoner exchange deals as a tool of revenge and a means of breaking political symbolism, amidst an unprecedented escalation of violence within prisons and the introduction of racist legislation, most notably the push for a law to execute prisoners.
