Protests in Al-Ard Square, Aden, Rejecting Al-Alimi and Saudi Arabia

Media platforms affiliated with what was formerly known as the “Southern Transitional Council” circulated images and videos showing demonstrations by supporters of the so-called Transitional Council—affiliated with the Emirati occupation—in Al-Ard Square in the city of Aden. The protests were held in rejection of what were described as “Saudi measures aimed at taking control of southern cities.”

The reports added that these demonstrations coincided with an unprecedented military mobilization and deployment of Saudi-aligned forces across Aden’s streets. Combat units were positioned at the city’s entrances in anticipation of any hostile actions, particularly amid escalating political tensions in the region.

Media outlets affiliated with the Transitional Council stated that the protests come in the context of rejecting the dissolution of the council and insisting on the so-called constitutional declaration and transitional phase previously announced by the mercenary Aidarous Al-Zubaidi before his flight from the city of Aden.

According to observers, the march took place at a sensitive time marked by rising tensions in the Yemeni file, as local forces attempt to demonstrate popular presence on the ground in order to strengthen their positions in any future political negotiations or understandings.

In the city of Mukalla, media sources reported that forces loyal to the Saudi occupation set up a security checkpoint in the Al-Dis Al-Sharqiya area to intercept a convoy of Transitional Council supporters arriving from eastern Hadramawt, with the aim of preventing them from continuing toward the city. The same forces also detained buses carrying other supporters from Ghayl Bawazir who were heading to organize a demonstration in support of the so-called “Transitional Council” in Mukalla.
