“OCHA”: Needs of displaced people in Gaza are not being met

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territory (OCHA) said on Tuesday that many of the basic needs required to protect displaced people in the Gaza Strip are not readily available.

In a post on the platform “X,” monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), OCHA stated that options for voluntary movement of displaced persons remain limited due to large areas of land in the besieged enclave remaining closed, which hampers civilians’ ability to move safely.

It noted that rubble removal operations face major constraints as a result of the ban on the entry of necessary equipment, slowing reconstruction efforts and the reopening of roads.

OCHA added that temporary measures such as providing tents are insufficient to meet the scale of the growing humanitarian needs, stressing the need for more effective and sustainable solutions.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on 10 October last year, following a two-year genocidal Zionist war. However, the Israeli enemy army continues to commit daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of most humanitarian aid into the Strip.
