The Ramadan Food Basket Project Targets 19,000 Families of Martyrs in Sana’a and Dhamar
To mark the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the General Authority for the Care and Rehabilitation of Martyrs’ Families and the Martyrs Foundation launched the Ramadan Food Basket Project in the governorates of Dhamar and Sana’a, targeting tens of thousands of families.
In Dhamar, the director of the Authority’s branch, Hashem Al-Hamzi, explained that the project covers approximately 7,500 families of martyrs and missing persons, at a cost of 168 million riyals. Distribution will be in kind within the city and cash disbursements in the remaining districts, as part of a comprehensive plan costing 543 million riyals.
In Sana’a, the director of the Authority’s branch, Humair Hamza, announced that the project targets more than 11,000 families, with direct distribution in the governorate’s capital and cash disbursements in other districts, in addition to accompanying projects such as Eid clothing.
Officials participating in the launch stressed that these initiatives represent a tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs, and called for strengthening the values of social solidarity during the holy month, while praising the contributions of merchants and charitable initiatives that support needy families and alleviate their suffering.
