Awareness Thwarts Conspiracies, and Benevolence Creates Empowerment
In the seventeenth Ramadan lesson, the Supreme Leader, may God protect him, sheds light on a significant episode from the story of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, through the lesson of the man who came from the farthest part of the city, striving. This lesson encompasses profound educational, security, ethical, and humanitarian dimensions that resonate with the reality of the Muslim community today, offering practical lessons on how to confront challenges and conspiracies. Trusting in God in Moments of Peril
In discussing the departure of the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) from Medina, the Supreme Leader explained that Moses left urgently and without any prior preparation. This led him to face numerous dangers and challenges, including insecurity, loneliness, hunger, and not knowing the way. However, this difficult situation did not cause him to collapse or despair. Instead, he immediately turned to God and sought refuge in Him. This reflects the depth of his connection with God and his trust in His care and protection. This stance highlights a profound truth of faith: that reliance on God is greater than reliance on any material power, and that when a believer remains steadfast in his righteous stance and trusts in God, God will not forsake him, no matter the circumstances or challenges.
Midian: A Turning Point in Moses’ Journey
The Leader pointed out that Moses’ arrival in Midian was not merely a geographical relocation, but rather the beginning of a new phase in his life. Midian was a region outside Pharaoh’s control, possessing a strategic geographical location. It was inhabited by the Prophet Shu’ayb and his people. Moses arrived there exhausted and suffering after a long journey of flight, yet despite this, he did not lose his humanity or the spirit of benevolence he possessed.
The Spirit of Kindness in the Most Difficult Circumstances
One of the most prominent lessons highlighted by the Leader in this Quranic story is the spirit of kindness and concern for others. Despite his own hardship of fatigue, hunger, and being a stranger in a foreign land, Moses, peace be upon him, did not ignore the suffering of the two women who were standing apart from the others, waiting for a chance to water their sheep. He immediately inquired about their well-being and then offered to water their flocks, in an act that embodies the highest ideals of humanity and kindness. The Leader pointed out that this scene reflects the great value of kindness in faith, a value that should be present in the life of the Muslim community. However, contemporary reality is witnessing a significant decline in this spirit, to the point that many people no longer inquire about the well-being of others or care about their suffering.
Modesty and chastity: human and religious values
The Leader also commented on the actions of the two women who did not push their way through the water to the men, but rather waited until everyone had finished. This reflects the spirit of modesty and chastity that women should possess. He pointed out that this behavior represents an important lesson in values and morals, especially in light of what he described as a hostile project targeting women’s morals, modesty, and dignity, and seeking to strip them of their religious and human values. In this context, the Leader emphasized that modesty is a great religious value, one of the most important pillars of faith, and a noble moral quality that should be preserved by men, women, and youth alike. He explained that the loss of modesty opens the door to many deviant and shameful behaviors that contradict human and religious values, stressing that modesty represents self-respect, dignity, and humanity, which distinguishes humans from animals.
Divine Blessings of Kindness
Among the important points made by the Leader is that kindness is never lost with God, and its blessings may far exceed the magnitude of the deed itself. The simple act performed by Moses (peace be upon him) of watering the sheep with a bucket was, in reality, the beginning of a great blessing in his life. It transformed into the start of a new phase of divine care. When the two women returned to their father and told him what Moses had done, the righteous father was eager to reward him for his kindness. He invited Moses to his home, where Moses recounted his entire story. The righteous father then gave him glad tidings of deliverance from the wicked people. Here, divine care was manifested, ensuring the well-being of Moses (peace be upon him). He found security after fear, work after need, and family after being a stranger.
Trust in God: The Beginning of Ascent
The Leader explained that when Moses, peace be upon him, sat in the shade, tired, hungry, and a stranger, he did not regret his righteous stance against injustice. Rather, he was proud of his position and confident in God. From that moment, when he seemed to be at a “zero point,” his upward journey began, proving that God does not forsake His allies nor abandon His sincere servants.
