Ayatollah Khamenei Mourns Larijani and Soleimani, Affirms: Revenge is Near, and the Blood of the Martyrs Will Not Be Shed in Vain
In a scene that reveals the scale of the escalation and the gravity of the current situation, while simultaneously reflecting the depth of the open confrontation with the forces of arrogance, the statement of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, mourning a group of prominent leaders who were martyred in the Zionist-American aggression, foremost among them Dr. Ali Larijani and Major General Gholam Reza Soleimani, affirmed that the blood of the martyrs will only fuel greater strength and resolve, that retaliation is inevitable, and that every drop of blood will have a price that the killers will soon pay.
In the details of the statement, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his profound sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Dr. Ali Larijani, his son, and a number of his companions, praising his distinguished career spanning nearly five decades in service to the Islamic Republic, during which he was one of the most prominent strategic minds in the political, security, military, and cultural fields.
He emphasized that the martyr Larijani was a scholar of profound insight, possessing high intelligence and extensive experience, which earned him a special place within the state structure. This explains the enemy’s targeting of him in a desperate attempt to strike at centers of power and influence.
The Leader of the Revolution stressed that the assassination of a figure of such stature reflects only the extent of the hatred harbored by the arrogant powers for the nation’s leading figures. He affirmed that the blood of the martyrs, shed “at the very trunk of the flourishing tree of the Islamic system,” will only strengthen and deepen it.
In a separate statement of condolence, Ayatollah Khamenei mourned Major General Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij Resistance Force, considering his martyrdom a great loss, but also a living testament to the effectiveness of this popular organization that has terrified the enemies.
He explained that the martyr Soleimani was among the first mujahideen in the fields of jihad in the path of God and possessed extensive experience in managing mobilization and military operations, making him one of the pillars of the Basij, which played a pivotal role in bolstering the capabilities of the Islamic Republic. He pointed out that the assassination of this mujahid commander clearly reflects the extent of the fear gripping the cowardly and despicable enemy regarding the Basij forces, which have proven their active presence on various battlefields.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the blood of the martyrs will not go unpunished, and that the principle of blood for blood has become increasingly prominent in the equations of conflict, emphasizing that every drop of blood has a price that the criminal killers must pay soon.
According to observers, this assertion indicates that the response will not be symbolic or limited, but may come in an escalatory manner commensurate with the magnitude of the crime, especially given the growing capabilities of the Resistance Axis and the expanding scope of engagement with the Zionist and American enemy.
This development confirms that the enemy’s policy of assassinations is no longer achieving its objectives. On the contrary, it contributes to strengthening internal cohesion, raising the level of preparedness, and producing more resilient and experienced field commanders.
The statement also clearly reflects that the Islamic Republic, along with the forces of the axis of resistance, is moving towards establishing a new deterrence equation, the title of which is that targeting leaders will not go unpunished, and that their blood will turn into a driving force to escalate the confrontation until the enemy’s hegemony is broken.
