Pezeshkian: 14 Million Iranians Enter the Battle to Defend the Country, and I Am at the Forefront
In a move reflecting the escalating popular mobilization and the strengthening of the home front in Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that more than 14 million Iranians have officially volunteered to defend the country, affirming his personal readiness to sacrifice his life in the face of aggression.
In a post published Tuesday on the “X” platform, Pezeshkian explained that he would not hesitate to offer himself as a sacrifice for Iran, emphasizing that this widespread public response to the volunteer initiative reflects the extent of national support for the option of defense and resistance.
He noted that millions of Iranians rushed to register for the volunteer initiative to defend the country, without disclosing further details about the nature of this initiative or its launch date, given the exceptional circumstances the Islamic Republic is experiencing.
This announcement comes amidst the ongoing US-Israeli aggression that began in late February, resulting in thousands of martyrs and wounded, and targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Iran continues to respond with missile operations and drone attacks that have struck deep within Israel and targeted US sites and interests in the region.
According to observers, Pezeshkian’s statement reflects clear indications that Iran has entered a phase of comprehensive mobilization, combining official and popular efforts, within the framework of an open-ended battle that transcends military confrontation to establish a long-term strategy of resistance.
