Pezeshkian: Ceasefire a Fruit of the Blood of Martyr Khamenei and Iranian Unity After the Implementation of Tehran’s Principles
In his first official comment on the ceasefire announcement, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that the agreement, reached through the acceptance of Iranian principles, is a direct result of the sacrifices of the martyred leader Ali Khamenei and a national achievement made possible by the cohesion and unity of the Iranian people in the face of aggression.
In a post published Wednesday on the “X” platform, Pezeshkian explained that the ceasefire was based on the general principles put forward by Tehran, considering it a reflection of the Iranians’ resilience and solidarity across various fields—political, military, and popular—until they imposed their terms at the negotiating table.
He indicated that the next phase will witness the continuation of this national cohesion, emphasizing that Iranians will remain united in the fields of diplomacy, defense, and public service, thus strengthening Iran’s position and consolidating its gains in the face of challenges.
This statement follows Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s announcement earlier today of an agreement for an immediate ceasefire between Iran and the United States, to take effect at 3:30 AM, after the US accepted Iran’s ten-point plan as the basis for negotiation and agreement.
According to observers, this development reflects a shift in the course of the confrontation, as Tehran has successfully translated its resilience on the ground and the unity of its domestic front into political gains, imposing its conditions within the ceasefire arrangements, in the context of an open conflict that has redrawn the balance of power in the region.
