Sanaa: New Measures to Ensure Strict Implementation of Boycott of US and Israeli Products
A meeting was held in Sanaa, the capital, on Tuesday, chaired by Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam al-Bashiri, to follow up on the implementation of the decision to boycott American and Israeli goods and products.
During the meeting, al-Bashiri praised the level of public and official commitment to the boycott decision, emphasizing that the response from consumers and importers reflected the Yemeni people’s firm stance in supporting the causes of the nation and rejecting policies of hegemony and arrogance.
He also noted the efforts of the Alternatives Committee, led by the private sector, in identifying alternatives to the boycotted goods from local products or from the markets of friendly countries, stressing that legal action would be taken against violators.
The meeting reviewed detailed reports on the level of implementation of the decision, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda and adopting appropriate decisions and measures to ensure the strict application of the boycott.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials, including the Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority, Ibrahim Mahdi, the Executive Director General of the Yemeni Standards and Metrology Authority, Abdullah Al-Atifi, the Head of the Coordination Committee between the Public and Private Sectors, Muhannad Al-Shami, the Deputy Head of the Supreme Authority for Medicines, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharif, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital, Ali Al-Hadi, and the Vice President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Salah.
