Hezbollah: No Return to the Pre-March 2nd Status Quo; Resistance Charts the Next Phase and Affirms Readiness to Repel Any Zionist Violation

The Deputy Head of the Political Council of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Mahmoud Qamati, affirmed that the current phase represents a pivotal turning point in the confrontation with the Zionist enemy, emphasizing that there is no return to the pre-March 2nd status quo. This indicates that the rules of engagement have fundamentally changed due to developments on the ground.

In a press statement, Qamati explained that Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem will announce a detailed roadmap for the next phase in the coming period, reflecting the resistance’s intention to establish new equations that transcend the framework of temporary truces.

Regarding the truce declared on April 17th, he noted that it remains contingent on the enemy’s behavior and developments on the ground, warning against Israeli treachery and urging residents to remain vigilant in light of the ongoing violations.

Qamati emphasized that the resistance would remain vigilant and ready to act, asserting that it would not be satisfied with a mere ceasefire and would not accept a return to the status quo, regardless of the sacrifices required. He added that the resistance was prepared to respond immediately to any Israeli violation.

In a related context, he affirmed that the ongoing negotiations could not negate the will of the people or the option of resistance, maintaining that the battlefield, not political negotiating tables, dictates the terms and determines the course of events.

Qamati expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran, acknowledging its role in imposing a ceasefire through international pressure, which he said reflects a new balance of power in the region.

He also sharply criticized the official Lebanese approach, arguing that pursuing direct negotiations with the enemy constituted a compromise of sovereignty. He stated that this course of action placed the government on one path, while the resistance remained on a different one, one that safeguarded Lebanon’s rights and dignity.

This statement comes amid escalating tensions on the southern front and continued Israeli attacks, in contrast to repeated assurances from the resistance that any violation will not go unanswered, in an equation that seems open to further escalation unless the aggression stops completely.
