“The Cry”: A Revolutionary Act Changing the Course of History… A Strategic Reading of the Leader’s Speech

The speech delivered by the Leader, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi (may God protect him), on the anniversary of the “Cry in the Face of the Arrogant,” was not merely a passing address. Rather, it has become a strategic document revealing the dimensions of the global onslaught against a nation being led to the slaughterhouse of subservience, and offering a practical roadmap for confronting it. The speech, delivered yesterday, the 4th of Dhu al-Qi’dah 1447 AH, corresponding to April 21, 2026, did not simply recall the past, but delved into the depths of reality, envisioning the future and offering a philosophical and political analysis of the course of the conflict. It redefineds the equation of conflict and simultaneously warns that the price of inaction has become too great to bear, and that the compass of enmity must be recalibrated now, before it is too late.

“The Cry”: A Quranic Origin… An Existential Act

The “Cry” dates back to 1422 AH (2002 CE), when it was launched by the martyr leader, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi (may God be pleased with him). The cry was not merely a reaction, but an existential act inspired by the Holy Quran, aimed at awakening the nation from its slumber in the face of “an onslaught of disbelief and tyranny, bearing the banner of another era of ignorance.” This “other era of ignorance,” as the leader described it, surpasses its predecessors in its capabilities, methods, and diabolical objectives, and is embodied today in the Jewish-Zionist-American-Israeli onslaught targeting the nation in all its aspects.

A Religious Necessity and a Legitimate Right

The essence of this cry lies in its being a “great Quranic stance” that rejects subservience and enslavement, and embodies the dignity of faith. It is not merely words, but a “wise and accessible shift” that moves people from a state of stagnation to a position of righteousness, within a framework of Quranic awareness, faith-based mobilization, and constructive practical action. This action is not a choice, but a religious, moral, and humanitarian necessity, and a legitimate right of the nation to defend itself, its dignity, and its sacred values.

Dissecting the Reality of the Nation: Loyalty, Compromise, and the Silencing of Voices

The speech offers a harsh analysis of the nation’s reality. The leader observes that the American-Israeli-Zionist onslaught was met with “a rush by most regimes, governments, and leaders to declare loyalty, obedience, and submission to the enemies.” This loyalty is not merely a political error, but rather “one of the worst manifestations of apostasy and retreat from the great principles of Islam.” It contradicts the established Quranic principles that prohibit taking Jews and Christians as allies, citing the verse: {O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.} The oppressors. [Al-Ma’idah: 51]

The slogan breaks the siege

Even more dangerous is the “general apathy of most nations,” which has enabled the enemies to gain control. In this context, the “slogan” emerges as a way to break the silence and muzzle the enemies seek to impose. While criticizing Israeli crimes is criminalized in the West under the guise of “anti-Semitism,” the situation in some Gulf countries reaches even worse levels, where a mere tweet expressing sympathy for Palestine or Hezbollah is punishable, and prayers for the resistance fighters are prohibited, while loyalty to the Israeli enemy and justification of its crimes are permitted. The slogan here is not just a voice, but an act of resistance that breaks this siege and opens the way for expressing discontent and rejection.

Recalibrating the compass of enmity… Fortification against infiltration

One of the most important strategic dimensions of the slogan is “fortifying the internal situation of the nation, confronting attempts to subdue the nation and direct its loyalty to its enemies, and working to recalibrate the compass of enmity in the right direction.” The leader believes that the most dangerous affliction facing the nation is “the ability of the Zionist Jews and their allies to manipulate and infiltrate this nation regarding the issue of loyalty and enmity.” The Jews have succeeded in diverting the compass of hostility from broad segments of the nation’s population, directing it against those who oppose the Zionist plan and those who stand in the way of American and Israeli agendas, exploiting tools such as takfiri groups and some regimes that support them.

Here, the cry serves as a “religious and moral scale” that redirects enmity toward the true enemies: the Zionist Jews and those who collaborate with them. It establishes the issue of loyalty and enmity as a “principled, religious, moral, and ethical consideration” upon which a person’s destiny in this world and the hereafter depends, determining their stance as either with justice or injustice, with truth or falsehood.

The Content of the Cry: A Comprehensive Quranic Vision

The content of the cry (God is Greatest – Death to America – Death to Israel – Curse the Jews – Victory to Islam) is not merely empty slogans, but rather “the title of the Quranic project, and an expression of a Quranic culture and vision” that confronts the deceptive slogans and content of the enemies. This content aims to:

Establish the glorification of God: and reject all subservience and submission to the forces of tyranny and arrogance, restoring the sole recognition of God’s greatness.

Confront the American and Israeli enemy: which targets the nation’s religion and existence, commits the most heinous crimes, and attempts to extinguish its faith and enslave it.

Expose the fundamental role of the Jews: in the Zionist movement and the movement of hostility towards the nation, their efforts to mislead and corrupt the world, and reveal their hidden schemes.

Reaffirming the reality of Islam’s victory: as a religion destined for global dominance, and that if the nation acts according to its principles and values, it will triumph, rise, and prevail, as demonstrated by the steadfastness of Gaza and the victories of Hezbollah.

A Call for Practical Action: From Awareness to Deed

The Leader concluded his speech with a clear call for the nation to be vigilant and aware, and to take sincere practical action in the path of God. He reiterated his call to adhere to the Quranic stance, to boycott the enemy’s tools, and to take sincere practical action in the path of God. The slogan is not merely a memory, but a way of life and a national project aimed at achieving honor, dignity, and victory for Islam and Muslims in the face of global hegemonic powers. It is also a call to restore the issue of loyalty and enmity as a fundamental, religious, and ethical principle upon which the destiny of humanity in this world depends.
