The Electronic Criminal Record Center: A Qualitative Achievement of the September 21 Revolution, Ending Bureaucratic Contracts and Prioritizing Citizen Service

In a move reflecting the rapid transformation in the performance of service and security institutions, Acting Prime Minister, Allama Muhammad Muftah, inaugurated today the Electronic Criminal Record Issuance Center in the capital, Sana’a. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior’s plan to develop the security system and enhance performance efficiency, keeping pace with current demands and serving citizens directly and effectively.

This significant achievement is an extension of the modernization and reform path established by the glorious September 21 Revolution. The revolution prioritized alleviating the suffering of citizens, simplifying procedures, and eliminating the bureaucratic complexities that burdened people for decades, transforming state institutions into genuine service providers operating efficiently and responsibly.

Institutional Development and Modern Equipment

During the inauguration, the Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada, along with Deputy Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada, and several security leaders, inspected the technical and technological equipment installed at the center. They also reviewed the modern operational mechanism that integrates electronic systems with standard procedures, ensuring speed and accuracy in processing.

The center boasts a capacity of up to five thousand transactions daily, an unprecedented step aimed at eliminating overcrowding and expediting transactions. Citizens can now obtain their criminal record certificates within a short period of one to two hours.

Ending Decades of Suffering

In a press statement, the Acting Prime Minister stated that this project represents a significant achievement for the Ministry of Interior. He emphasized that it will end the decades-long suffering of citizens in obtaining criminal records, a consequence of complex traditional procedures and bureaucratic red tape.

He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior’s leadership and its technical and administrative staff, praising this practical shift towards automating services and expressing his hope that this experience would be extended to various service sectors, contributing to improved government performance and enhanced public trust in state institutions.

A Qualitative Leap in Security and Service Operations

For his part, Deputy Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada, affirmed that the launch of the automated electronic criminal record issuance center represents a qualitative leap in developing the work of the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence and directly contributes to facilitating citizens’ access to services quickly and efficiently.

He pointed out that this project embodies the revolutionary and political leadership’s directives to improve services provided to citizens and enhance institutional performance in the security and police sector, thus achieving integration between the security and service dimensions.

In turn, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Security and Police Sector, Major General Ahmed Jaafar, praised the efforts exerted in completing this project, emphasizing the Ministry’s leadership’s commitment to moving forward in developing and improving services, in line with the leadership’s directives and primarily serving the citizen.

Practical Solutions to Overcrowding and Streamlined Procedures

In this context, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Makhdhi, Director of the General Department of Criminal Evidence, reviewed the nature of the services the center will provide, explaining that its launch will significantly contribute to reducing overcrowding and streamlining transactions through an integrated system that combines accuracy and speed.

He emphasized that the center represents a practical model for the transition to modern management, based on automation and the use of technology, which enhances performance efficiency and saves citizens time and effort.

The September 21 Revolution: From Slogan to Service Reality

The opening of this center reflects an important aspect of the transformations brought about by the September 21 Revolution, which were not limited to confronting political and military challenges, but extended to building state institutions on modern foundations based on serving the citizen and fulfilling their interests.

After years of suffering from complex procedures and administrative corruption, these service projects confirm that the nation is moving steadily towards establishing a modern administrative model that places the citizen at the forefront of its concerns and transforms slogans into a tangible reality that people experience in their daily lives.
