Hezbollah Secretary General: The framework agreement in Washington is invalid and humiliating, it compromises Lebanon’s sovereignty and grants the Israeli enemy what it failed to seize through war.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, launched a scathing attack on the so-called “framework agreement” signed in Washington between the Lebanese government and the Zionist entity, describing it as null and void, a national humiliation, and a dangerous concession of Lebanese sovereignty. He asserted that the occupation had gained political advantages through this agreement that it had been unable to achieve on the ground. He emphasized that the only real solution lies in full adherence to the Iranian-American memorandum of understanding, which stipulates a ceasefire and guarantees the withdrawal of occupation forces from Lebanese territory.

Sheikh Naim Qassem said in a statement published by Al-Manar website on Saturday that what happened in Washington has no national legitimacy, stressing that the framework agreement is non-existent, and that the real reference for addressing the crisis is the implementation of the clauses contained in the Iranian-American memorandum of understanding, foremost among which is stopping the Zionist aggression and the complete withdrawal from Lebanese territory and preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He explained that Hezbollah will continue, through all political and diplomatic means and Arab and international pressure, to work to compel the enemy entity to implement the first clause of the memorandum of understanding, which stipulates a cessation of aggression and withdrawal from Lebanon, as it is the true gateway to any settlement that preserves rights and sovereignty.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah addressed a direct message to the Lebanese authorities, calling on them to reverse the political sin that threatens the future of Lebanon, stressing that the door to cooperation is still open in order to protect national sovereignty, liberate the land, expel the occupation, recover the prisoners, return the people to their villages, rebuild what was destroyed by the aggression, and agree on a comprehensive national strategy for security and defense.

Sheikh Qassem stressed that the ceasefire would not have been achieved without the great sacrifices made by the resistance fighters and the Lebanese people, emphasizing that the resistance will remain loyal to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded and the prisoners, and will continue its field presence until the end of the occupation, saying that the resistance did not leave the field in the harshest circumstances, and will not leave it today.

He strongly criticized the performance of the Lebanese authorities, questioning their responsibility in protecting national sovereignty, recalling that they had previously rejected the initiative that resulted from the Iranian-American talks, which allowed the occupation to continue its aggression and commit the crime of Black Wednesday, which witnessed hundreds of victims and more than one hundred air raids targeting large areas of Lebanon, including the capital, Beirut.

He pointed out that Hezbollah had warned from the beginning of the danger of engaging in direct negotiations with the occupation, considering that it represents nothing but a path to complete submission to American and Israeli dictates, at a time when the authority entered these negotiations while it was lacking any elements of strength after it abandoned the power of the resistance, and went into hostility with a broad segment of the Lebanese people, in violation of the constitution and laws that consider the Zionist entity an enemy.

He explained that the Iranian-American memorandum of understanding clearly stipulated a cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and guaranteed the safety and sovereignty of Lebanese territory, with a final agreement to be reached within sixty days. He emphasized that Iran suspended the memorandum when the occupation refused to implement its obligations, and continued to exert pressure until the occupation was forced to cease fire.

He added that this memorandum provided Lebanon with an unprecedented strategic advantage, because it linked any settlement to the complete withdrawal of the occupation. However, the Lebanese authorities abandoned this advantage and the elements of strength created by the resistance and the steadfastness of the people, and gave the occupation what it was seeking for free through the “framework agreement.”

He stressed that what was included in the agreement regarding linking the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of the resistance
