Hamas Calls On The Palestinian Authority To Hold Serious National Meetings And Abandon The Logic Of Exclusivity And Exclusion.

The official spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Hazem Qassem, called on the Palestinian Authority leadership on Saturday to respond to national demands by holding serious national meetings, abandoning the logic of exclusivity and exclusion, and stopping attempts to engineer the political system to satisfy external powers.

Qassem said in a post on Facebook: “It is unfortunate that the Palestinian Authority continues to stand by as a spectator to the disaster unfolding in the Gaza Strip, and is seeking to exploit this tragic reality in the Strip for political gain by passing a selective election process.”

He stressed that rebuilding the political system requires consensus-based decisions, far removed from the current policy pursued by the leadership of the authority, which is based on confiscating political institutions and preventing any other national party from participating in them.
