According to the Fars News Agency, the Iranian Presidency stated in a press release that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi will receive him upon his arrival at Najaf International Airport.
During this brief visit, President Pezeshkian will attend the ceremonies welcoming the body of the late Supreme Leader and will also meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi for talks.
It is worth noting that official farewell ceremonies were held last Friday by foreign delegations comprised of senior officials and dignitaries from many countries around the world.
The massive public farewell ceremonies for the martyred leader of the nation took place on Saturday and Sunday at the Tehran prayer hall, followed by the funeral procession on Monday in the capital, Tehran, attended by millions. Today, Tuesday, the solemn funeral procession continued in the holy city of Qom, from the Jamkaran Mosque to the shrine of Lady Fatima Masoumeh.
Funeral processions will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf in Iraq. Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid al-Sistani, will lead the funeral prayers for the martyred leader in Karbala.
