UN Special Rapporteur: Genocide continues, ban on organizations part of plan to destroy Palestinian people

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Francesca Albanese, said on Sunday that “genocide is ongoing” in the Palestinian territories, noting that what is happening is “out of sight and out of mind.”

Albanese explained in a post on the X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the killing, preventing journalists from working, in addition to expelling or paralyzing the work of humanitarian organizations, represents part of a broader strategy.

She confirmed that “Israel’s” ban on non-governmental organizations comes within deliberate efforts to create “living conditions” aimed at destroying the Palestinian people.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has committed, over more than two continuous years since October 7, 2023, crimes of genocide, blockade, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 71,548 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 171,353 others, as of yesterday, Saturday, in a non-final toll, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on roads, with ambulance and rescue crews unable to reach them.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 last year, after a two-year continuous Zionist genocidal war, yet the Israeli enemy army practices daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of the majority of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
