Palestinian journalists protection center condemns medical neglect of journalist Bani Mufleh in Israeli prisons

The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center condemned on Sunday the severe medical neglect suffered by Palestinian journalist Mujahid Bani Mufleh, which led to a serious deterioration in his health following his release from Israeli prisons.

In a statement carried by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Center confirmed that Bani Mufleh was immediately transferred to the operating room after his release due to acute health complications resulting from a harsh period of detention accompanied by deliberate medical neglect, posing a direct threat to his life and physical well-being.

The Center clarified that what Bani Mufleh endured is not an isolated or exceptional case, but rather part of a systematic policy pursued by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian journalists, both during their detention and after their release, in an attempt to break their will and deter them from performing their professional duties.

The Center pointed out that Palestinian journalists are often detained without clear charges or fair trials and are denied medical care. The necessary measures, in addition to their exposure to severe psychological and physical pressures, often lead to a deterioration in their health conditions and threaten their lives, as well as preventing them from practicing their journalistic work freely and safely.
