Save the Children: Infant deaths in Gaza due to bitter cold
Save the Children reported on Sunday that new figures from the Gaza Strip show that eight infants have died so far this winter due to hypothermia, amid the harsh humanitarian conditions faced by the population.
The organization quoted its Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe Director, Ahmad Alhendawi, in a post on the X platform, which was, as saying that these deaths “could have been prevented.”
He pointed out that homes in Gaza have been reduced to rubble, while the temporary shelters where families are taking refuge do not provide even the minimum necessities for survival.
