“UNICEF”: Malnutrition Still Threatens Children in Gaza, Need for Aid Remains Urgent

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) affirmed on Monday that malnutrition continues to widely affect children throughout the Gaza Strip, amidst the difficult humanitarian conditions the Strip is witnessing, as a result of the ongoing Israeli crime of genocide for over two years.

The organization stated in a post on the “X” platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), that UNICEF gives the highest priority to life-saving treatment, alongside prevention efforts and continuous support aimed at restoring basic services.

It clarified that life-saving treatments and aid are reaching families in Gaza, but humanitarian needs remain vast, emphasizing the urgent need for more support.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has, for over two consecutive years since October 7, 2023, committed genocide crimes, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 71,660 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and injuries to 171,419 others, as of today, in a non-final toll, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on roads, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews.

A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 last year, after a two-year-long Zionist war of genocide. However, the Israeli enemy army continues to commit daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of the majority of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
