Zionist Enemy Continues Its Assaults on Palestinians, Their Properties in West Bank
Zionist enemy forces continued their assaults on Palestinians and their properties on Saturday in several areas of the occupied West Bank of Palestine.
Enemy forces arrested a young man from the city of Tubas. The Director of the Prisoner’s Club in Tubas, Kamal Bani Odeh, reported that enemy forces arrested the young man, Jihad Mustafa Mahmoud Masalma, after raiding and searching his home in the Al-Ashareen area, according to the Palestinian news agency “WAFA.”
In the northern Jordan Valley, Israeli enemy forces arrested a young man from the area.
Bani Odeh stated that the enemy arrested the young man, Lutfi Muhammad Bani Odeh, from Khirbet Al-Hadidiyya while he was tending to his livestock near his tents.
In a related context, enemy forces forced a citizen from the town of Kafr Thulth, south of Qalqilya, to self-demolish his industrial facility.
Local sources explained that enemy forces forced the citizen, Kamal Saeed Shawahna, to demolish a marble factory he owns east of the town, built on an area estimated at about 300 square meters. This inflicted material losses estimated at over 80,000 shekels, under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
The sources indicated that enemy forces threatened Shawahna with imposing hefty financial fines if he did not carry out the self-demolition, noting that the enemy had served Shawahna a notice to stop work at the factory in 2018, before forcing him to implement the demolition this year.
In the center of Hebron city, enemy forces moved the concrete blocks they had installed several years ago in the Bab Al-Zawiya area of the Hebron commercial center forward, to steal more street space and expand the barrier erected at the entrance to Al-Shuhada Street.
A large number of enemy soldiers raided the Bab Al-Zawiya area in the city center, forced shop owners to close their stores, dispersed Palestinian citizens, forcibly evacuated the area, and moved the concrete blocks they had installed in the area several years ago forward, stealing approximately 30 square meters of street space to expand the barrier at the entrance to Al-Shuhada Street, according to “WAFA” agency.
These measures are part of the ongoing policy of the Zionist enemy to target Palestinian neighborhoods, especially Tel Rumeida and Al-Shuhada Street in central Hebron, which enemy authorities have completely closed with military barriers since 2000. They have established several settlement outposts there, in addition to the Beit Hadassa/Daboya and Ramat Yeshai/Tel Rumeida settlements, depriving citizens of their most basic rights in all areas of life, as part of the enemy’s policy aimed at displacing the population and expanding settlement in the region.
It is worth noting that the Zionist enemy gradually closed Al-Shuhada Street and the Tel Rumeida neighborhood in central Hebron city, starting from the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre carried out by a settler inside the sanctuary in 1994, culminating in the complete closure of Al-Shuhada Street to Palestinians after the Second Intifada in 2000.
Hebron city stands as a stark example of settlement encroachment operations and ongoing Judaization projects.
It should be noted that the closure of the street has fragmented the residents of Al-Shuhada Street and Tel Rumeida, forcing them to cross barriers to reach their homes, and turning the lives of all Hebron residents into a daily ordeal due to the division of the city and its separation into two parts.
