February 12th: A Day Written in Blood in the Record of Crimes Against Yemen

February 12th is not just another date in the Yemeni memory, but one of the days heavy with blood and fire, clearly revealing the nature of the war imposed on Yemen.

Throughout the years of aggression, this day has become a recurring milestone for committing crimes against civilians, targeting residential neighborhoods, water sources, infrastructure, and the very foundations of life, in a systematic approach that reflects a slow war of extermination that recognizes no law and adheres to no red lines.

2016: Public Events and Livelihoods

On February 12, 2016, the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression began a new chapter of its crimes with the martyrdom of a citizen in an airstrike that targeted the Yakhtal area in the Mocha district of Taiz Governorate.

In the capital, Sana’a, airstrikes directly targeted the power generator hangar at Fun City children’s amusement park in the Al-Sabeen district, causing a large fire and damaging the park, a nearby school, residential buildings, and shops. This shocking attack targeted a recreational facility dedicated to children. The area between the main celebration platform in Al-Sabeen Square and the People’s Mosque was also targeted, along with three airstrikes on Al-Nahdain and Al-Sabeen, resulting in significant damage to public and private property.

In Al-Jawf, airstrikes targeted Bedouin and shepherd camps in the Al-Saqiyah area of ​​the Al-Maslub district, burning tents and killing more than 25 head of livestock. This was a direct attack on livelihoods.

The attacks extended to Ma’rib, where airstrikes completely destroyed the home of Sheikh Saleh bin Nasser Al-Juhaili in Sarwah and the home of Qasim Abdullah Al-Sharif in Majzar.

The airstrikes targeted the governorates of Sana’a, Sa’dah, Hajjah, Al-Bayda, and Al-Hudaydah, striking homes, mills, restaurants, markets, and vital bridges, in a scene that underscores the comprehensive nature of the aggression and the wide scope of its targeting.

2017: Cluster Bombs and Targeting Fishermen
On February 12, 2017, the aggression’s warplanes launched four airstrikes on the Development Authority building in Zabid, Al-Hudaydah, and four on Al-Khawkhah, in addition to two airstrikes on fishermen’s sheds in Al-Nakhilah, Ad-Durayhimi, in a clear attack on the fishing sector.

In Ma’rib, internationally banned cluster bombs were used to target civilian homes and farms in the Sirwah district, coinciding with heavy missile shelling by the aggression’s mercenaries.

2018: Abduction and Killing of Civilians

February 12, 2018, witnessed one of the most heinous crimes, when seven civilians were killed and another injured in an attack targeting a water well in the Al-Salw district of Taiz Governorate. This crime confirms the aggression’s deliberate targeting of essential infrastructure.

Airstrikes also targeted Al-Dailami Air Base, Sirwah, Al-Maslub, Haradh, and Midi. Meanwhile, naval vessels belonging to the aggression forces abducted 39 Yemeni fishermen and detained them in Saudi prisons for two months.

2019: Widespread Artillery Bombardment and Destruction of Residential Areas

On February 12, 2019, aerial and artillery bombardment intensified in Saada Governorate, particularly in Baqim, Haydan, and Munabbih, causing widespread destruction of property.

In Hodeidah, mercenaries launched intense artillery shelling targeting 90th Street, Kilometer 16, Al-Durayhimi, Al-Fazah, Hodeidah International Airport, and the Faculty of Medicine. Dozens of shells were fired in a single day, directly targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure.

2020: Intense Bombardment and Escalation

On February 12, 2020, airstrikes targeted Al-Dhale’, Ma’rib, Al-Jawf, and Sa’dah, causing extensive damage to homes and civilian property.

In Hodeidah, homes were burned, and entire villages in Bayt al-Faqih, Hays, and Al-Durayhimi were damaged by shelling involving more than 150 shells and rockets. Additionally, new fortifications were established in clear violation of the ceasefire agreements.

2021: Civilian Bloodshed on the Border

On February 12, 2021, two civilians were killed and two others wounded by Saudi border guard fire in the Munabbih district of Saada Governorate. Meanwhile, 18 airstrikes were launched on Marib, in addition to reconnaissance flights and continuous artillery shelling in Hodeidah.

2022: Remnants of Aggression Continue to Kill

On February 12, 2022, the aggression continued its crimes, with one civilian killed and eight wounded by Saudi army fire in Al-Raqw, and one civilian killed and three others wounded by an explosion of a bomb left over from the aggression in Al-Tuhayta.

Dozens of airstrikes were launched on Haradh, Al-Jubah, Al-Wadi, and the capital, Sana’a, while mercenaries shelled areas of the western coast with more than 131 rockets and shells.

2023: Violations Continue Despite Ceasefire

On February 12, 2023, three civilians were wounded by Saudi army fire in the border areas of Saada, while mercenaries in Hodeidah continued to establish fortifications and shell residential neighborhoods.
