Agricultural Leap in Al-Jawf: Wheat Cultivation Expands from 6,500 to 18,000 Hectares

The Executive Director of the Grain Corporation, Salah Al-Mashraqi, affirmed that the corporation, in cooperation with the people of Al-Jawf Governorate, is striving to achieve a major agricultural renaissance in grain production. He noted that the area cultivated with wheat in the governorate has witnessed a significant leap in just one year.

Al-Mashraqi explained that the area cultivated with wheat has increased from approximately 6,500 hectares in 2023 to more than 18,000 hectares currently, reflecting continuous efforts to expand agricultural land with the support of farmers and local authorities.

He pointed out that this expansion represents an important step in supporting strategic crops, emphasizing the ongoing work to provide farmers with the necessary facilities, guidance, and support to contribute to raising production levels and achieving food security.

These statements come within the context of a national initiative to enhance food security. In recent months, Al-Jawf has witnessed the distribution of tens of thousands of seed packets and the honoring of dozens of agricultural coordinators who contributed to doubling production despite limited resources.
