11 Palestinian Families in Al-Mughayyir Village Displaced Due to Attacks by Zionist Enemy and Its Settlers
Eleven Palestinian Bedouin families residing in the Abu Hammam “Al-Khalayil” cluster, south of Al-Mughayyir village northeast of Ramallah, began dismantling their homes and packing their belongings again on Saturday, searching for other places to move to after increasing harassment by Israeli enemy forces and settler attacks.
The “Sind” News Agency reported that these families, who were forced to leave the Ain Samiya cluster in the lands of Kafr Malik village in the summer of 2023, now find themselves compelled to relocate for a second time, seeking some form of stability and safety.
Mustafa Ka’abneh, a resident of the cluster, told “Sind” that 11 families consisting of 55 individuals have started to leave, explaining that some families have already departed, and the others will follow in the coming days.
He added: “We were 27 families in Ain Samiya, and we dispersed 3 months before the war on Gaza across several areas in Al-Ghor, Al-Taybeh, and Al-Khalayil,” explaining that the 11 families will be distributed across areas in Al-Ghor and Al-Taybeh.
He affirmed that the main reason for the families’ departure is the enemy’s harassment and the settlers’ attacks and assaults, “which have made living conditions very difficult and unbearable.”
Ka’abneh explained that the enemy periodically closes the only entrance to Al-Mughayyir village, and once closed, it condemns the cluster’s residents to die of thirst and hunger, adding: “Many times we couldn’t bring food for our children.”
He pointed out that many families were forced to sell their sheep and only have a few heads of livestock left to provide sustenance for their children, as they are unable to work.
He explained that the attacks and harassment carried out by settlers on the cluster forced the young men to devote themselves to guarding the cluster day and night.
He added that the enemy forces have escalated their assaults and harassment by arresting residents of the cluster as well as foreign solidarity activists, and prevented them from going out to graze their sheep.
He said the enemy arrested him a few days ago, and now they want to arrest his sons.
He stressed that the families only left the cluster after life there became unbearable, and they have not found any official or popular step to support their steadfastness for 3 years, noting that the families incurred large sums in establishing their homes and leveling the land.
Bedouin communities in the West Bank are subjected to attacks and harassment in which settlers and enemy forces cooperate, as part of the settlement doctrine aimed at controlling areas classified as (C), displacing Palestinians from them, and tightening control over the Jordan Valley region, which has geostrategic and security importance due to its proximity to the Jordanian border.
