Pezeshkian: We are negotiating courageously to protect Iran’s interests, and whatever the outcome, we will stand with the people.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that the Islamic Republic is conducting its negotiations with the United States from a position of responsibility and steadfastness. He emphasized that safeguarding national interests is an absolute priority and that the government will stand with the people regardless of the outcome of the negotiations.

In remarks made via the “X” platform, Pezeshkian explained that the Iranian delegation participating in the Islamabad negotiations is sincerely defending Iran’s interests and will negotiate courageously. He stressed that this approach reflects the state’s determination to uphold its rights and not compromise them under any circumstances.

He added that serving the people will not cease for a single moment and that the government is committed to its obligations to the citizens. He emphasized that the results of the negotiations, whatever they may be, will not affect this approach, conveying a message of confidence in the domestic situation and preparedness for various scenarios.

These statements coincide with the start of the Iranian-American negotiations in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. A high-level Iranian delegation, headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, arrived in the country. The delegation includes specialized committees covering political, military, security, economic, and legal aspects.

The composition of the delegation at this multi-faceted level reflects Tehran’s approach to managing the negotiations comprehensively, linking the various issues and underscoring its active role in shaping the dynamics of this phase, both at the negotiating table and on the ground.

Pezeshkian’s statements indicate the Iranian leadership’s commitment to negotiating from a position of strength, while simultaneously maintaining domestic stability and bolstering public confidence, given the complexities of the regional and international landscape surrounding these negotiations.
