April 20th stands out as one of the bloodiest days in the record of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression against Yemen, as crimes of genocide unfolded and direct targeting of civilians in their homes and residential neighborhoods, in addition to the bombing of farms, property, and infrastructure. Throughout the years of aggression, this day reflects a consistent pattern of crimes that targeted Yemeni people in their daily lives, leaving hundreds of victims, martyred and wounded, in flagrant violation of all humanitarian and international laws.
2015 AD: The Faj Attan and Saada massacres… targeting crowded neighborhoods
On April 20, 2015, the aggression aircraft committed one of the most horrific massacres in the capital, Sana’a, as they targeted residential neighborhoods in the Faj Attan and Wahda areas, leading to the martyrdom of 25 citizens and the injury of 398 others, most of them women and children, in a mass crime that shook the Yemeni conscience.
In Saada Governorate, 13 citizens were martyred and 12 others were injured as a result of raids that targeted a sweets factory, the Political Security housing building, and various areas, in conjunction with a series of raids that targeted the Al-Arous Mountains, Muhaydida, and several residential areas, in a widespread targeting of civilians and the economic structure.
2016 AD: Nihm was targeted and raids continued
On April 20, 2016, the aggression aircraft launched two raids on the Wasit and Al-Jawha areas in Nihm District, in continuation of the raids on residential areas.
2017 AD: Targeting of homes and farms and escalation on multiple fronts
On April 20, 2017, the aggression aircraft targeted a house in Al-Matoun District in Al-Jawf, killing three citizens and wounding others. It also targeted a farm in Saada, leaving casualties.
The raids extended to Hodeidah, Taiz, Hajjah, and Ma’rib, targeting citizens’ homes and areas, in conjunction with mercenary artillery shelling on Sarwah, in a massive escalation on multiple fronts.
2018 AD: Mawza massacre and targeting of civilian communities
On April 20, 2018, the aggression aircraft committed a horrific massacre in the Mawza District of Taiz, targeting a car carrying citizens in the Al-Arish area, which led to the martyrdom of 20 citizens and the injury of others.
In Saada, five citizens were martyred as a result of raids on Maran, and the raids also targeted homes and farms in several districts, directly targeting population centers.
The raids extended to Al-Bayda, Al-Hudaydah, and Hajjah, targeting citizens’ farms and property.
2019 AD: Bombing of residential neighborhoods and facilities in Hodeidah
On April 20, 2019, the aggression aircraft targeted areas in Sanaa and Al-Dhalea, while the mercenaries intensified their bombing of residential neighborhoods in the city of Hodeidah, targeting the main streets, farms, and factories, which led to significant damage to public and private property.
2020 AD: A massive air escalation and direct bombardment of civilians
On April 20, 2020, a citizen was martyred and another was injured by sniper bullets in Taiz, coinciding with intense raids on Marib and Al-Jawf.
In Saada, missile and artillery shelling continued on border villages, while areas in Hodeidah and Al-Dhalea were subjected to artillery shelling targeting citizens’ homes.

2022 AD: Violations and bombing in multiple governorates
On April 20, 2022, mercenaries targeted various areas in Hodeidah, Ma’rib, and Saada with missile and artillery shelling, in a continuation of the violations.
2023 AD: Fortifications and field escalation
On April 20, 2023 AD, the mercenaries established combat fortifications in Taiz, with artillery bombardment on areas in Hodeidah, and a spy aircraft raid on Hays.
2024 AD: The remnants of aggression continue to claim lives
On April 20, 2024, the child Abdul Malik Al-Zaidi was martyred as a result of the explosion of a cluster bomb left over from the aggression in Sarwah, in a crime that reflects the continued danger of these wastes to the lives of civilians, especially children.
Memory of massacres and unbreakable steadfastness
The crimes of April 20 reveal a bloody, systematic approach that amounted to mass massacres, targeting civilians in residential neighborhoods, means of transportation, and sources of livelihood, in an attempt to break the will of the Yemeni people. However, this people, despite the enormity of the losses, continued their steadfastness, transforming pain into strength, proving that these crimes will remain present in memory as a witness to a stage of defiance and steadfastness in the face of the forces of hegemony and arrogance.
