Iran imposes a new deterrence equation: military readiness and diplomatic resolve in the face of pressure.
The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to consolidate a new deterrence equation based on combining high military readiness with diplomatic firmness, in the face of pressures and accelerating regional developments.
This trend reflects Tehran’s move to a more cohesive phase in managing the balance between field power and political action, with a continued emphasis on protecting national sovereignty and strengthening deterrence elements at various levels.
military readiness
In this context, Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, confirmed during his meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei, that the Iranian armed forces are at the highest levels of defensive and offensive readiness.
Abdullahi explained that the fighters have a high fighting spirit and are fully prepared to confront any aggression, noting that the forces possess strategic plans and advanced equipment that qualify them to deal with various threats.
In the same context, the Revolutionary Guard leadership stressed that any targeting of Iranian ships or tankers will be met with a direct response targeting hostile interests and ships in the region, stressing that Iranian deterrence is “ready and open in the event of any escalation.”
The Iranian military also asserted that countries involved in US sanctions will face increasing difficulties in crossing the Strait of Hormuz, as part of a policy aimed at protecting Iran’s strategic interests.
Security alert
On the security and military front, Iranian forces announced that they had thwarted attempts to hack into radar systems using advanced electronic warfare techniques, confirming their success in detecting and foiling the operation.
The military command also explained that there is an ongoing process of updating defensive and offensive plans and developing the target bank, reflecting a state of constant readiness for various possible scenarios.
diplomatic activity
Politically, the official IRNA news agency reported that Tehran had delivered its response to an American proposal through the Pakistani mediator, as part of a diplomatic track aimed at ending the war and containing the escalation.
In contrast, international reports, including those carried by Reuters, indicate that there are moves towards a limited ceasefire agreement through indirect negotiation channels.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirms that Tehran is still in the stage of carefully studying the proposals and has not yet made a final decision, within the framework of what it describes as “preserving national interests.”
sovereign constants
In the political arena, the Iranian leadership reaffirmed its commitment to its strategic principles, foremost among them the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the right to uranium enrichment, considering them sovereign issues that are not subject to concession or compromise.
Tehran asserts that the policy of pressure will not change its strategic options, but rather will strengthen its approach based on deterrence and balance in dealing with challenges.
Dismantling spy cells
Security-wise, the Iranian Ministry of Security announced the dismantling of two cells belonging to the Mossad in the provinces of West Azerbaijan and Alborz, before they could carry out operations described as dangerous inside the country.
The ministry explained that weapons, drones, and advanced communication devices were seized as part of ongoing operations to pursue spy networks linked to foreign entities.
Iran strengthens deterrence
These developments reflect that Iran is steadily moving forward with an integrated strategy based on strengthening military deterrence, activating diplomatic efforts, and tightening security measures, thereby establishing a new equation in the face of various forms of pressure and escalation.
Under this equation, Tehran affirms its continued management of a carefully considered balance between power and politics, which enhances its regional presence and consolidates its position as an active player in the balance of deterrence, capable of imposing its equations in the face of escalating challenges.
