May 23rd… a bloody day in the record of crimes of aggression against Yemen
May 23rd marks one of the days in which events documented the continued crimes of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression and its mercenaries against civilians in Yemen, where mosques, gas stations, homes, farms and shops were targeted in a number of governorates, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens, including women and children.
These violations are spread across multiple years, reflecting the scale of the escalation and the variety of targeting methods on this day each year.
2015 AD.. Widespread targeting of infrastructure
On May 23, 2015, three children were killed and six others, including a woman, were injured as a result of the aggression aircraft targeting the Guards camp in Kilo 16 in Al-Durayhimi district in Al-Hudaydah governorate and the facilities adjacent to it, including the Roads Authority and Al-Awdi factory.
Three citizens were injured as a result of the aggression aircraft bombing the Al-Qahoum oil station and a mosque adjacent to it in Ras Naqil Ghoulah Ajib in the Rida district of Amran Governorate, which led to the destruction of the station, its contents and the mosque.
The aggression aircraft launched a number of raids on the main road linking Al-Qafleh district and Amran governorate from the north and the cities of Ahem, Haradh, Al-Tuwal, Abs in Hajjah governorate.
The reserve forces camp in the Al-Sawad area and the Dhubwa camp in the Sanhan district of Sana’a Governorate, and Faj Attan in the capital’s secretariat, were also targeted with a series of raids, in addition to raids on Sarwah, Helan and Al-Jadaan in Marib Governorate.
The Al-Malahiz area in Al-Dhaher district in Saada governorate was bombed with ten missiles from behind Mount Dukhan, in addition to raids on the house of businessman Abu Muska and two raids on the house of martyr Ahmed Ayda Al-Hamzi.
2016 AD.. Targeting of religious and archaeological sites
On May 23, 2016, the aggression aircraft launched an air raid on the Al-Khadham camp in the Bani Hashish district, and an air raid near the Bani Sabr area in the Nihm district of Sana’a Governorate.
In Taiz Governorate, the mercenaries of the aggression destroyed a number of shrines in the Qubbat al-Mutawakkil Mosque in the Old City, and targeted the al-Mudrab area in al-Wazi’iyah District with machine guns, while artillery shelling continued on the city of Dhubab.
The air force also launched an airstrike on the Alaf area in the Sahar district of Saada province.
2017 AD.. Civilian casualties
On May 23, 2017, three citizens were killed and five were injured as a result of a mortar shell fired by the mercenaries of the aggression. A woman was also injured by mortar shrapnel in the Al-Jamla neighborhood of the Salah district in Taiz Governorate.
The aggression aircraft launched two raids on Maqbana district, three raids on Al-Mukha district, three raids on Al-Dhaher district in Saada, and three raids on Midi district in Hajjah governorate.
2018 AD.. Targeting farms and fishermen
On May 23, 2018, six citizens were killed and three others were wounded as a result of an airstrike that targeted a mango farm in the Al-Miyah area of Beit Al-Faqih district in Al-Hudaydah Governorate.
A fisherman was injured in a bombing that targeted Kamaran Island, and the air force also launched an air raid on the Al-Jubana area in Al-Hali district.
In Saada, the air force launched an airstrike on the public road in the Al-Nadhir area of Razih district, five airstrikes on Al-Dhaher district, and two airstrikes on Sahar district, in addition to missile and artillery shelling on Razih and Munabbih.
2019 AD.. Bombing and targeting of civilians
On May 23, 2019, a woman was injured when a shell fell on her house in the Al-Khazja area of Haifan district in Taiz governorate.
The mercenaries of the aggression also carried out artillery shelling and intensive combing targeting Al-Khamsin Street in the city of Hodeidah, the vicinity of the College of Engineering, Al-Dhubiani neighborhood, Al-Wahiyeen Hotel and City Max.
Another bombing targeted a swimming pool and a hangar in the Kilo 16 area of Al-Durayhimi district, in addition to a Saudi missile bombardment on the Shada border district in Saada governorate.
2020 AD.. Raids in Al-Jawf and Ma’rib
On May 23, 2020, the aggression aircraft launched eight raids on the Al-Labnat area in the Al-Jawf desert, and four raids on the Majzar district in Marib governorate.
On May 23, 2021, a citizen was killed by Saudi border guard fire in the Al-Raqou area of Munabbih district in Saada Governorate.
The aggression aircraft launched four raids on the Sarwah and Madghal districts in Marib Governorate, and four raids on the Al-Maraziq area in the Khabb wa ash-Shaaf district in Al-Jawf Governorate.
