June 8th… Another day in the annals of Yemeni bloodshed, documenting the crimes of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression against civilians.
June 8th holds a painful place in Yemeni memory, as it is one of the days that witnessed a series of crimes and violations committed by the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression against civilians and civilian objects in various Yemeni governorates. On this day, buses transporting citizens, homes, farms, health and service facilities, markets and public roads were subjected to direct bombing, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded, including women and children, in addition to widespread destruction of property and infrastructure.
The documented events during this day in the various years of aggression reveal a recurring pattern of systematic targeting of civilians and the foundations of life, in flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws and conventions. These crimes remain a living testament to the extent of the suffering that Yemenis have endured throughout the years of war and siege.
2015.. Massacres against civilians and targeting of hospitals and service infrastructure
On June 8, 2015, the aggression aircraft committed a series of bloody crimes targeting civilians and service facilities in a number of governorates.
In Lahj Governorate, 14 citizens were killed and others were injured when a public transport bus was targeted on the main road near Al-Faisal City, in a crime that embodied the direct targeting of citizens while they were traveling.
In Saada province, six civilians were killed and others, including women and children, were wounded in airstrikes on the Sabr area of Sahar district. The post office in the area was also destroyed. In the same district, four civilians, including two children, were killed and others were wounded in airstrikes targeting the Al Mazrou area.
The attacks extended to the areas of Al-Khazain, Ain, Al-Dhay’ah village, Kataf district and Al-Malahit, while the border areas were subjected to continuous artillery and missile shelling, leaving widespread damage to public and private property.
In Sana’a Governorate, the Siyan Rural Hospital in Sanhan District was damaged as a result of raids that targeted neighboring citizens’ homes. Three doctors from the staff of Al-Sabeen Hospital in the capital were also injured, and parts of the hospital building were damaged as a result of targeting residential neighborhoods in Al-Sabeen District, coinciding with raids on the Faj Attan area.
In Hajjah Governorate, four citizens were injured as a result of raids targeting the border city of Haradh, and the Zafar area and the central prison were subjected to a series of air raids.
2016… Continued bombing of provinces and targeting of schools and homes
On June 8, 2016, the aggression aircraft continued its raids on a number of governorates, targeting Harf Sufyan district in Amran governorate, Harib Nihm area in Sana’a governorate, and Al-Makhrouq area in Najran.
In Al-Jawf Governorate, the districts of Al-Matun and Al-Maslub were subjected to air raids, while mercenaries targeted citizens’ homes in the villages of Al Hamad and Al-Mahzam with artillery shelling and gunfire.
In Taiz Governorate, artillery shelling targeted the city of Dhubab and the Al-Qashuba area in Al-Wazi’iyah district, while an air raid targeted Al-Omari schools in Dhubab, continuing the targeting of educational facilities.
The strategic Mount Helan in the Sarwah district of Marib province was also subjected to an air raid, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted the village of Al-Hazm in the Harib Al-Qaramish district.
2017.. Targeting markets, properties, and citizens’ homes
On June 8, 2017, two children and a man were injured as a result of mortar shelling that targeted citizens’ homes in Al-Matoun district in Al-Jawf governorate.
In Saada province, three citizens were injured and shops were destroyed as a result of an air raid that targeted the Ghamr area in Razih district, while Al-Dhaher district and Saada city were subjected to a series of air raids.
The aggression aircraft also launched raids on Sarwah in Marib Governorate, Al-Hawban and Al-Jund in Taiz Governorate, and Nihm District in Sana’a Governorate, leaving great damage to citizens’ farms and properties.
2018.. Border villages under fire and popular markets in the crosshairs of airstrikes
On June 8, 2018, a citizen was killed and another was injured by Saudi border guard fire in the Ghor Bani Mu’in area of the Razih border district in Sa’dah Governorate.
The districts of Razih and Shada were subjected to continuous Saudi missile and artillery shelling, while an air raid targeted the main road in the Maran area of Haydan district.
