Fadlallah: Diplomacy based on strength protects Beirut and deters the enemy.
MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, confirmed that the negotiations taking place in Switzerland between Iran and America begin with the Lebanese file, considering that the Islamic Republic links any progress in the negotiations to stopping the Zionist aggression and the withdrawal of enemy forces from Lebanese territory.
During a memorial ceremony held by Hezbollah for the martyred commander Ali Musa Daqduq and a group of martyrs in the wing, Fadlallah said: “The negotiations in Switzerland today begin from the first point of stopping the aggression against Lebanon, and the Islamic Republic of Iran informed us that there will be no negotiations before a ceasefire, and no agreement before the enemy army withdraws from Lebanon.”
He added that Iran “is sacrificing its nuclear file, negotiations, and interests for the sake of Lebanon and in support of it,” noting that “the starting point is the item related to Lebanon.”
Fadlallah asked: “What cards of power does this authority have, what capabilities does it have, what does it want to negotiate about, and what does it want to concede?” He considered that “the Islamic Republic is with us and with our right and stands by Lebanon.”
He stressed that “our people and our resistance will benefit from this fundamental factor, which is added to the factor of steadfastness on the ground, in order to force the enemy to stop its aggression and expel it from our country.”
He also criticized the government’s performance, saying: “We only find this government when some of its members come out to talk about the monopoly of weapons,” adding that “our blood was being spilled these past two days in the south, and our women and children were being killed by the Israeli enemy, and we did not hear a word from some of the officials.”
He said: “Whoever is able to confiscate the weapons, let him go and do so. We say to these people one thing: the resistance will remain, and your authority will expire. Our weapons will remain in our hands, and our resistance will remain and continue.”
On the other hand, Fadlallah considered that “what protects Beirut today is diplomacy based on Iranian missiles, not diplomacy of fear, cowardice, concession and loitering at the doors of the American administration.”
He added that there is “complete consensus” in Iran on supporting the resistance and Lebanon, saying: “We will not abandon the resistance in Lebanon and the people of Lebanon.”
He argued that those who accused Iran of using Lebanon in its nuclear negotiations “should know that the resistance is not a card in anyone’s hand, but rather it is this people.”
