This year’s commemoration was not just a religious or historical occasion, but rather it emerged as a station of mobilization, awakening, and awareness, in which the Yemenis invoked the figure of Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, as the “ally of the Qur’an” and the owner of the Qur’anic project who rose up against the deviation and tyranny of the Umayyads in defense of truth, justice, and the dignity of the nation.

The crowds affirmed that Imam Zaid, peace be upon him, is still present in the conscience of the Yemeni people, and that his immortal slogan, “Insight then Jihad,” still represents a practical approach in facing contemporary challenges.

The crowds saw that what Yemen is facing today in terms of siege, aggression, occupation, and targeting of sovereignty and national wealth, makes drawing inspiration from the experience of Imam Zaid more urgent and important, as it is a model of bearing responsibility, steadfastness to principle, and not submitting to injustice no matter how great the sacrifices.

The masses also renewed their absolute mandate to the leader of the revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirming their readiness and preparedness to implement the options and decisions that are taken in order to defend Yemen, its sovereignty and its legitimate rights.

These positions reflected a state of harmony between the popular position and the official and military positions, and showed that the issue of breaking the siege was no longer just a political demand, but had turned into a comprehensive national issue that enjoys broad popular consensus.

The decision to break the siege is irreversible.
The issue of the siege was the most prominent theme that dominated the atmosphere of the march and the content of the speeches, chants, and the statement issued from it.

The crowds affirmed their categorical rejection of the continued blockade imposed on Yemeni airports and ports, considering this blockade a blatant violation of national sovereignty and the right of the Yemeni people to life, movement, and benefit from their resources.
