Saudi Arabia is trying by various means to evade an international investigation that looks into their crimes and killing of civilians in the Yemeni-Saudi war.

Though, there is still an international silence about the unlawful acts of killing citizens in Yemen, there are many international organizations who are supported by a number of countries that call for an immediate investigation.

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Geneva, Abdul Aziz Al-Wasel, claimed that the time is not appropriate for an independent international investigation into human rights violations in Yemen. The statement was agreed upon by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Moreover, Netherlands and Canada support the decision by the United Nations Human Rights Council to authorize an internal investigation.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Raad said last Monday that the United Nations has verified the deaths of at least 5144 civilians since the outbreak of the Yemeni conflict while Yemeni civil organizations say that the number of deaths and injuries since the beginning of the conflict reached 50 thousand, half of them are children and women.

The Saudi-led coalition forces has been blamed for killing unarmed civilians in Yemen, thereby multiple organizations demand a rapid  international investigation into the abuses.
