Dhale’ province, southern Yemen, witnessed on Saturday violent clashes between the security forces backed by the UAE and the forces affiliated with the fugitive ex-president Hadi, which ended with UAE’s entire control over the province.

Local sources in the province confirmed that the real reason behind the clashes is that the security forces backed by the UAE wanted to control the province in order to open the way for the soldiers and officers of the Republican Guard, who were trying to flee to Aden city to join the camps established by Tariq Afash, sponsored and financed by the UAE.

The source added that the fierce clashes that took place on Saturday between the security belt of the UAE and fugitive Hadi’s forces came as a reaction after the latter arrested hundreds of soldiers and officers of the Republican Guard while they were trying to escape to Aden.

The security belt forces may have released more than two hundred members of the Republican Guard detained in the Security Department of Dhale weeks ago, source noted.

The forces of the security belt have been able to end the presence of Hadi government forces after clashes resulted in the death and injury of some in both parties, including the deputy director of security of the province.
