Trump admits US halted ‘dangerous payments’ to rebels fighting Assad

U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted on Monday night that the U.S. did in fact cut off the funding to rebel forces fighting to depose of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

“The Amazon Washington Post fabricated the facts on my ending massive, dangerous, and wasteful payments to Syrian rebels fighting Assad…..” the U.S. President tweeted on Monday evening.

This tweet by the U.S. President came after a Washington Post article, which revealed last week that the Trump regime was relinquishing the CIA-led project to train the rebel forces fighting the Syrian government.

Trump had said back in his presidential campaign that he was looking to withdraw the U.S.’ support for the rebel forces in Syria.
