Freed From Wahabism, Several Yemeni Provinces Celebrate Eid Al-Ghadeer

A number of Yemeni provinces celebrated on Friday the anniversary of “Eid al-Ghadeer” with a number of popular events that reflect the importance of the succession of Imam Ali peace be upon him in the hearts of Yemenis.

Districts in Sana’a revived central events on the anniversary of Imam Ali’s succession, where the cultural, poetic and inspirational passages were held, expressing the joy of the Yemenis on this day and their embodiment of Allah’s orders to support and walk on the same path of the chosen one after prophet Mohammed PBUH.

Moreover, the wounded of the Yemeni joint army did not allow the pain of their wounds stop them from celebrating Eid Al-Ghadeer.

They called upon all Muslims to stick to the day of succession due to its historical importance that still has effect today. Despite all sects of Islam recognizing prophet Mohamed’s wish to have Ali as his successor, Sunnis insist that the companion Abu Bakr did right when he took after prophet Mohamed instead of Imam Ali.  This marks a fundamental difference between Muslim Sunnias and Shias.

Yemenis Hasten to Stand in Solidarity With the Rohingya

In Amran Province, residents of Jabl District commemorated the anniversary of Imam Ali’s succession (peace be upon him) in the area of Almakhath with the presence and the interaction of many.

During the same event, twenty-four grooms held their marriage approved by a tribal decree in the District in order to mitigate the effects of the Saudi-led war and its air, sea and land siege. This type of weddings makes it easier for couples to get married for they do not cost much while the country undergoes an economic war and state employees are struggling the absence of salary payments.

Furthermore, Bait Al-Faqih District based in coastal Hodeidah Province witnessed a tribal meeting in the occasion of Eid Al-Ghadeer, where the participants vowed to walk on the same path of Imam Ali.

With the escalation of the Saudi-led war and the siege imposed on Yemen, Yemenis are keen to celebrate everything that strengthens their steadfastness.
