The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored another huge advance in the southeastern countryside of the Damascus Governorate this week, following a short battle with the formerly US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) militants near the Jordanian border.

Led by the 5th Legion, the Syrian Arab Army attacked a number of garrisons under the control of the Free Syrian Army on Wednesday, capturing a large number of these border points in a swift assault near the Jordanian crossings.

According to a military report, the Syrian Arab Army was capable of taking control of garrisons 196, 197, 198, 199, 200, 201, 202, 203, and 204, marking their largest advance along the Jordanian border in the last two months of battle.

With this most recent advance, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies are steadily gaining ground near the Syria-Iraq-Jordan axis, which is not far from the US-occupied Tanf Crossing.
