Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of Yemen’s Ansarullah, has made an official offer to Saudi Arabia and the United Nations, in which he promises that Yemen will cease all missile launches on targets within Saudi territory, in exchange for an immediate ending to Saudi airstrikes against Yemen.

“I hereby announce an initiative and present it to the United Nations, the Security Council and the international envoy, and tell them that we are prepared to stop firing Yemeni missiles, provided that the coalition stops its flights; and we will be prepared to provide guarantees of obligation, and so must the coalition; tit for tat,” the Chairman added.

Mohammad Ali al-Houthi was the President of Yemen from February 2015 to August 2016, made a public appearance in Sana’a on Thursday, thus refuting claims made by Saudi coalition propaganda that he had been killed in Monday’s airstrikes on the city centre.
